KiwiMartin | I've just run the devstack script (nice script, btw), and when I'm stepping around in horizon, on some pages I get an exception "unexpected keyword argument 'api_key'". If I read the code it would appear to be because the glance code common.BaseClient doesn't have this as an argument. I'm wondering in what direction the changes are going: glance will be made to match horizon, or horizon will be made to match glance? Thanks | 01:38 |

doude_ | evrything works fine (boot, terminate, snap, ...) with keystone | 10:31 |
doude_ | In line 1872 of nova/virt/libvirt/connection.py, the compute ask the auth manager to get the user with id user attach to an image | 10:32 |

zaitcev | I'm having a trouble getting Swift to work. The key problem seems this: | 19:13 |
zaitcev | Nov 18 02:00:27 kvm-rei account-server 192.168.129.18 - - [18/Nov/2011:07:00:27 +0000] "PUT /vdc/236930/AUTH_system" 507 - "-" "-" "-" 0.0015 "" | 19:13 |
phschwartz | Razique: ok, I have my fixed_ips list cleared out. | 19:14 |
zaitcev | This is swift 1.4.3, using tempauth. The tempauth middleware produces these requests and then bails out. | 19:14 |

dolphm | upgrade must have gone wrong -- i'll try again by monday | 19:43 |
Kiall | Ah well ;) | 19:43 |
Kiall | I've tested my scipts in a clean VM, they seem to work well.. | 19:43 |
vidd | Kiall, on thing about your scripts that really rubs me wrong is the "use root for database" | 19:44 |
Kiall | vidd: they are not intended to do everything for you! | 19:45 |
vidd | security dictates that each app have its own databse, its own username and its own password | 19:45 |
Kiall | eg They dont setup firewall rules... | 19:45 |
vidd | and root should never be used by any app | 19:45 |
vidd | not even in testing | 19:45 |
Kiall | Hence, I prefer to leave that to the end user and go for a simple "look ma, it works and I haven't flooded my /usr/local with crap!" ;) | 19:45 |

vidd | =] yep >>adding to my basics instal script | 19:51 |
rmk | Maybe a stupid question -- what's the best way to store raw images compressed? | 19:51 |
Kiall | eg .. $ pwgen --symbols 50 1 .. phie4ithai4AYe6gea9aeMaW'oohoo2aip6ohcie[R"a?liequ | 19:52 |
rmk | The overhead of converting from qcow2 to raw on instance start sort of blows. | 19:52 |
Kiall | rmk: really? I barely notice anything at all.. | 19:52 |
rmk | You won't notice until you have a big fat windows image. :) | 19:52 |
rmk | If you can avoid that, all the better. | 19:53 |
vidd | rmk, maybe its just the overhead on windows that blows =] | 19:53 |
rmk | there's that too | 19:53 |
vidd | perhaps your system is just saying "really?...do i HAVE to? =] | 19:54 |
