@g.delgaudio:matrix.orgHello everyone,12:36
I believe this is the right thread; if not, I kindly ask ildikov to point me to the correct one.
I have installed STX version 10 (24.09). My current setup is a Central (All-in-One Duplex) and an edge cloud with a Standard with Controller Storage + 2 Workers.
I need to add some Debian packages to the edge cloud. To do this, I followed the guides below to create a patch to be applied on the edge cloud.
I set up a build environment, added my library to the .lst files, and downloaded the packages. So far, everything works fine (https://docs.starlingx.io/developer_resources/build_guide.html
).
Next, as described in this guide, I created a recipe to add my Debian package (https://docs.starlingx.io/developer_resources/starlingx_patching.html
).
After generating the patch and uploading it (sudo sw-patch upload 001.patch), I am unable to apply it as shown in the guide.
The upload works weel but i cannot apply the patch to the nodes on the edge cloud.
Has something changed, or does STX 10 support another method?
Thank you very much.

@ildikov:matrix.orgGiuseppe Del Gaudio: This should be the right room, thank you for sharing all the details about the challenge you're facing.13:24
@ildikov:matrix.orgWas there any specific information in the error messages or logs about the reason applying the patch didn't work?13:25
@ildikov:matrix.orgscott.little: Do you know if anything has changed in how patching works compared to the above linked guide?13:29
@g.delgaudio:matrix.orgIt seems that at the moment the suggested command is not available in the STX 10 CLI. Here is the sequence of commands:14:16
@ildikov:matrix.orgGiuseppe Del Gaudio: Thank you for sharing. There is a new Unified SW Management framework in StarlingX that was introduced in 10.0. It seems like it replaces the commands that you've been using: https://docs.starlingx.io/r/stx.10.0/releasenotes/index.html#appendix-commands-replaced-by-usm-for-updates-and-upgrades-835629a1f5b815:42
@g.delgaudio:matrix.orgThank you, I’ll do some tests tomorrow and let you know.16:01
